A mid-maturity hard red spring wheat with good scab tolerance. Tom has yielded very well in the Northern Red River Valley with good test weight & protein. The heading date of Tom is similar to Freyr. It is average in height with medium straw strength. Tom has moderate resistance to scab, similar to Freyr. It is resistant to stem rust & the Ug99 race of stem rust. It is moderately resistant to prevalent races of leaf rust & other leaf diseases. Brick has good scab tolerance, the source of Fusarium Head Blight resistance is the Chinese parent, Sumai 3. Leaf rust resistance is rated as moderately resistant.
